About Dr. Dominguez

Dr. Dominguez has a talent in saving teeth involving complicated root canals, restoring teeth broken at or beneath the gum line.

A dental drill can cause tiny tooth fractures. The high speed produces heat and pressure making patients uncomfortable.

A dental laser doesn’t have any of these problems to deliver minimally invasive root canal procedures. Dr. Dominguez delivers unparalleled results with each root canal procedure.

Advanced lasers decrease the time for root canal procedures. Lasers minimize or eliminate gum bleeding, allowing for faster healing following a root canal than with traditional root canals procedures.

Concerned about root canal pain? Want long term results from your root canal procedure? Dr. Dominguez uses state-of-the-art equipment delivering the best of all possible outcomes.

With proper care, you’ll keep root canal treated teeth for life. However,  infections are possible, becoming painful or diseased years following treatment. Retreatment is a second chance to save the tooth. If you suspect a tooth that had a prior root canal requires retreatment, visit your endodontist for evaluation.

As with any dental procedure, it’s possible your tooth won’t heal as expected after initial treatment for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Narrow or curved canals neglected during initial procedure.
  • Complicated canal anatomy undetected in first procedure.
  • Crown placement or other restoration was delayed following the endodontic treatment.
  • New decay jeopardizes a successfully treated tooth.

During retreatment an Endodontist:

  1. Removes the filling materials
  2. Examines the tooth for additional infection.
  3. Cleans and shapes the canals, removing any infection.
  4. Seals with new filling materials.
  5. A new crown is fitted for protection.

Microscope Use in Dentistry

A dental microscope offers better visualization through magnification. No matter how talented a dentist might be, without an operating microscope, they are handicapped. High- powered magnification offers a dentist superior visualization and successful outcomes.

A tooth, with a previous root canal, became infected and I turned to my U.S. dentist for advice. At 62 years, he’d been practicing dentistry for several decades and risen to the top of his profession as head of a prominent, western dental school.

His prognosis– an apicoectomy was required to remove a gum-line infection and refill the root ends. He prescribed antibiotics, scheduled the surgery, and two weeks later, the 90-minute procedure was performed.

Cost, $2,200.

The infection persisted and he said the tooth must be pulled. One of the largest molars in my mouth, I asked, is there an alternative? He performed the procedure a second time. Again, the infection returned within a couple of weeks.

Searching for an alternative and frustrated with high-priced U.S. dental care, I ran across Dr. Dominguez, an accomplished endodontist, with a reputation for saving teeth other dentists deemed must be pulled.

Equipped with a 30X magnification, high-powered scope, Dr. Dominguez diagnosed the problem, shared his findingings digitally and offered a solution.

He said, the tooth root needed to be shaved down and the space filled. He could fit me in within 2 hours, the procedure would take approximately 1 hour, during which he would use lasers to expedite the healing process.

Cost, $450.

I was dumbfounded. Surely, I wasn’t hearing him correctly. He could fix it? It didn’t need to be pulled? Today? For only $450? And he would take my U.S. insurance?!

His 20-years in dentistry, strong reputation and use of high-tech equipment reassured me.

3-years later the tooth remains intact and infection free.
